Resources to Learn SEO
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a function that continues to grow, evolve and unfortunately becomes stale if you don’t tend to it. After we build your new website together, you will need to maintain some level of SEO or invest in a maintenance service from an SEO provider when we are done working together.
As a service-based business owner, I am always looking for ways that I can reduce my operating costs. I’m pretty confident that you are too. So here are a few resources that I have used in my journey to level-up my SEO knowledge and keep more $$$ in my pocket.
Online Courses
Platforms like Coursera, Udemy, and LinkedIn Learning offer comprehensive courses on SEO fundamentals and advanced techniques.
Blogs and Websites
Follow reputable SEO blogs like Moz, Search Engine Journal, and Neil Patel's blog for valuable insights, tips, and updates.
YouTube Channels
Channels such as Backlinko, Ahrefs, and SEMrush regularly publish informative videos on SEO strategies and tactics.
Books
Books like The Art of SEO by Eric Enge, Stephan Spencer, and others, or SEO 2022: Learn Search Engine Optimization with Smart Internet Marketing Strategies by Adam Clarke provide in-depth knowledge of SEO principles.
Online Communities
Participate in forums like Reddit's r/SEO or industry-specific groups on platforms like LinkedIn to exchange ideas, ask questions, and stay updated on SEO trends.
Google’s Resources
Utilize Google's own resources like the Google Search Central Blog, Google Search Engine Essentials, and Google Analytics Academy for insights straight from the source.
Podcasts
Listen to SEO-focused podcasts like The Search Engine Journal Show or The SEO Podcast - Unknown Secrets of Internet Marketing for expert interviews, case studies, and actionable tips.
I don’t expect any one person to be able to leverage all of these resources, but you can select one or two. You will soon find yourself getting incrementally better at understanding and applying SEO strategies. Always practice what you learn by implementing strategies into your own website. This is they key to retaining information! As an added bonus you will be naturally helping to build your own search score.
